Child Tax Credit Highlights

For TY2026 the maximum CTC is $2,200 per qualifying child. The refundable Additional Child Tax Credit uses a $1,700 amount in §24(d)(1)(A). MAGI phaseout generally begins at $200,000 ($400,000 joint), reducing the credit by $50 for each $1,000 or fraction over the threshold.

EITC Highlights

The TY2026 maximum EITC is $8,231 for filers with three or more qualifying children. Smaller maxima apply for fewer children or none. Phase-in and phaseout thresholds differ for joint returns. Certain investment income above $12,200 disallows the credit.
